The Galapagos Archipelago, cradle for Charles Darwin's
observations and conclusions to his theory of evolution.
Pinnacle of the World for its fascinating biological diversity.
Where fauna demonstrates no fear or timidity towards the
presence or nearness of humans. Formed around 4 or 5 million
years ago and located on both sides of the equatorial line
approximately 600 miles (970 km) west of continental Ecuador.
Many islands are only tips of some volcanoes and show an
advanced state of erosion, others are completely immersed. Due
to its distance from the continent and because it was never
attached to it, the existent flora and fauna evolved
extraordinarily up to what they are today and have reminded
unchanged. Plants and animals inherent to the islands did not
have any predators for thousands of years of evolution, thus,
animals show no fear in the presence of humans and other
animals.
The Galapagos experience involves a full week of activities
where you will be able to observe the majority of its land and
marine species while trekking through various islands and
meandering intimately among the wildlife; snorkeling in the
company of playful sea lions, penguins, sea turtles, fish
species of all kinds and colors plus many more. Kayaking to
observe both species from a different perspective. Encounters
with the animals are from very short distances allowing great
photographic opportunities as well personal emotional highs. The
wildlife is made up mainly of birds, mammals and reptiles, most
of which endemic only to these islands. All of this, inside the
spectacular landscape of the Galapagos Islands and while
enjoying on-board living in one of the best yachts in the
archipelago.
